Dr. Neil Stahurski holds a Doctorate and the Performer’s Certificate in Organ Performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he studied with the late David Craighead and the late Michael Farris. He also holds a Master’s degree in Sacred Music from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, where he studied with Ann Labounsky and earned the André Marchal Award for Excellence in Organ Performance. He is currently the Director of Music Ministries at the Church of the Assumption, Bellevue, and Adjunct Professor of Music/Organ at Franciscan University of Steubenville. He has performed in the Northeast United States, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria.
Dr. Stahurski has served as accompanist for the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh, the Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh, and the Saint Vincent Camerata. He has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass in concert and on CD in collaboration with the Bach Choir. He is also a composer whose works have been performed by the OvreArts organization in Pittsburgh. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, as a panelist/lecturer for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, and has also performed in recital at the 2001 NPM National Convention in Washington, D.C. He holds a special interest in the organ literature of Poland, and has presented lecture recitals on the topic.
