Rebecca Rollett studied organ and composition at Arizona State University with David N. Johnson and choral conducting with Douglas McEwen. She completed her degree in Organ Performance at Oral Roberts University, where she studied organ and voice. She holds an Associate Certificate with the American Guild of Organists.
While resident in New Mexico, Mrs. Rollett performed with the Orchestra of Santa Fe, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, directed the Chamber Singers of the Chorus of Santa Fe, and was Principal Keyboard of the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra. She was also Chorus Director for the Santa Fe Symphony for three seasons. She was Artistic Director of Coro de Cámara, a chamber vocal ensemble, for seven seasons and Director of Music at the Church of the Holy Faith for 13 years.
In 1998 Mrs. Rollett earned a Masters degree in Choral Conducting under Robert Page at Carnegie Mellon University. The same year she was chosen as the new Artistic Director of the Pittsburgh Camerata, and she led the group for the next 18 years. Under her baton the Camerata developed a reputation for unusual collaborations and creative programming. In 2018 she was named Director Emerita.
Mrs. Rollett also taught for four years at Carnegie Mellon University as a vocal coach, and at the Duquesne University School of Music for seven years, where she taught Baroque Performance Practice, Sacred Solo and Choral Literature, and private harpsichord lessons. She is also known as an organ recitalist, performing at venues such as the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., the chapel of New College, Oxford, and the Cathédrale Saint Étienne de Metz, France.
